Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 4 August 2026
These terms govern your use of the Veritas app, this website and the analysis service behind them. By creating an account or recording a session, you agree to them.
1.Who these terms are with
The service is operated by [[Registered entity name]] (“Veritas Labs”, “we”), registered in [[jurisdiction]] with company number [[company number]], at [[registered address]].
If you are agreeing to these terms on behalf of an academy, club or other organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it, and “you” means that organisation.
2.What the service does
Veritas records badminton sessions through your own device, uploads them, and returns automated analysis: rally counts, shot classifications, measured shot speeds, positional heatmaps and capture quality metrics.
The analysis is a measurement aid, not coaching advice. It does not assess technique and is not a substitute for a qualified coach's judgement. Decisions about training, selection or a player's physical wellbeing remain entirely yours.
3.Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in method secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
Academy administrators may create player profiles and record on a player's behalf. If you do this, you are responsible for having the right to do so, including holding any parental or guardian consent required for minors.
You must be at least [[minimum age]] to hold your own account. Younger players may be recorded under an academy account with appropriate consent.
4.Your content, and what we may do with it
You own your footage. Recording a session does not transfer ownership to us.
You grant us a limited licence to store, process, transmit and analyse your recordings solely to provide the service to you — including running them through our analysis pipeline and returning the results.
We will not use your footage to train or improve our models, or for marketing, unless you give us separate, specific and withdrawable consent.
5.Recording other people
You are responsible for having the right to record everyone visible in your footage. Before recording you must, where required, inform players and obtain consent — from a parent or guardian where a player is a minor. Halls and clubs may impose their own filming rules; complying with those is your responsibility, not ours.
6.Acceptable use
You must not:
- record anyone without the consent or authority required to do so;
- upload footage you have no right to, or content that is unlawful, harassing or obscene;
- attempt to reverse engineer, decompile or extract our models, or probe the service for vulnerabilities without written permission;
- resell, sublicense or white-label the analysis output as your own product without a separate agreement with us;
- interfere with the service or place unreasonable load on it, including automated bulk uploads outside normal use.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and will tell you why where we lawfully can.
7.Plans, billing and trials
Some features are limited by plan. Paid plans, prices, billing periods and refund terms are set out at [[pricing page or order form reference]]. Where pricing is not yet published, the commercial terms are whatever we agree with you in writing.
We may change prices with [[notice period]] notice. Changes never apply retrospectively to a period you have already paid for.
8.Availability and accuracy
We work hard to keep the service running and the analysis accurate, but we do not warrant uninterrupted availability or error-free output. Analysis quality depends materially on capture quality — which is why the app checks your setup before recording and reports capture-quality metrics with every result.
You should not rely on the analysis as the sole basis for consequential decisions about a player's selection, progression or health.
9.Our intellectual property
The app, this website, our models, and the Veritas name and logo remain our property. These terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service, and nothing more.
10.Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data, and our total liability in any twelve month period is capped at [[the greater of fees paid in that period, or a fixed cap]].
11.Ending the agreement
You can stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach of these terms, or on [[notice period]] notice for any other reason.
On closure, your data is deleted in line with the retention periods in our Privacy Policy. Export your results before closing if you want to keep them.
12.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified to account holders before they take effect, and continuing to use the service after that constitutes acceptance.
13.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [[governing law]], and the courts of [[jurisdiction for disputes]] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
Questions about these terms: [[legal contact email]].
