Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 June 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how RunPaceLab (“we,” “us,” or “our”), operated by UDB Studios, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, collects, uses, and shares information when you visit www.runpacelab.com (the “Site”).

We take your privacy seriously. This policy is written to comply with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as applicable to our users.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide directly

RunPaceLab calculators are entirely client-side. When you use a calculator (pace calculator, heart rate zones, VO2 max, etc.), all inputs and outputs are computed locally in your browser. We do not transmit calculator inputs to any server. We do not store your calculator results.

If you contact us by email, we collect your email address and the content of your message. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry and is not added to any mailing list.

1.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically by the third-party services described below:

  • IP address: Your IP address is processed by our hosting provider (Vercel) and by Google Analytics to derive approximate geographic location (country, region). We do not store raw IP addresses in our own databases.
  • Browser and device information: Browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and device type are collected by Google Analytics.
  • Pages visited and time spent: Which pages you visit, how long you spend on them, and how you navigate between them are recorded by Google Analytics.
  • Referrer: The URL of the page that referred you to our Site is collected by Google Analytics.

1.3 Cookies and similar technologies

RunPaceLab uses the following cookies:

  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*, _gid): Set by Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic and usage patterns. These cookies persist for up to 2 years. They are analytics cookies, not advertising cookies.
  • Vercel performance cookies: Vercel, our hosting provider, may set technical cookies required for site delivery. These are functional cookies and do not track personal behaviour.

We do not currently set advertising cookies or use cookie-based ad targeting. If advertising is added in future, this policy will be updated before that occurs.

You can prevent cookies from being set by adjusting your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse all cookies or to accept only specific types. Refusing analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the Site’s calculators or read content.

2. How we use your information

We use the information described above for the following purposes:

  • Analytics and site improvement: Understanding which pages are visited most, which calculators are used, and where visitors come from, so we can improve the site and prioritise new content.
  • Technical maintenance: Hosting providers use minimal data to serve pages and diagnose errors.
  • Responding to enquiries: If you email us, we use your email address to respond.
  • Legal compliance: We may process data to comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for personalised advertising. We do not build behavioural profiles.

3. Third-party services

3.1 Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) provided by Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). GA4 collects data about your use of the Site and transmits it to Google’s servers. Google may transfer this data to countries outside the European Economic Area.

Google’s privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on from tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

3.2 Vercel (hosting)

The Site is hosted on Vercel Inc. (340 Pine Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA). Vercel processes network request data including IP addresses to serve pages. Vercel’s privacy policy is at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

3.3 Future services

If we add Google AdSense (advertising), additional analytics, or other third-party services, we will update this policy before doing so. The introduction of advertising will be noted in the Disclosure page.

4. Data retention

Google Analytics retains data for the default retention period (14 months in GA4 unless changed by us). Email correspondence is retained as long as the thread is relevant and for a reasonable period thereafter. We do not maintain a separate database of user information.
